Message From the Backpack Program Coordinators
God truly blessed our Backpack Program this year and we are so grateful. Psalm 91:1 says I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
Because of His mercy and grace and because of our faithful church members we have been able to do more for the children at Allen Bowden Public School this school year. Besides the weekly bags of food for 110 children to
take home each Friday afternoon, we have provided athletic shoes, socks, underclothing, warm winter coats, and stylish hoodies for the older students which they wore with pride!
We had hoped to take special treats and notes of appreciation to the staff during testing in April but as we know that didn't happen due to school closing after spring break.
A huge THANK YOU to all who helped in any capacity with the Backpack Program. Thank you for your prayer support and your financial support. The dedicated servants we have at First United Methodist Church are amazing!!!
We look forward to another great year in the 2020-2021 school year. Please join us in the fall when school resumes once again and God bless you and keep you safe!

Message from Allen Bowden Public School
Please remind everyone how much we appreciate their love and support for our students! Not only do our students benefit who have food insecurity, but those who have taken on the responsibility of overseeing distribution! They take such pride in delivering and managing the program each week. I constantly have other students who ask if they can help. This is such a great opportunity for students to serve each other alongside of your ministry. Thanks again for pouring your hearts into this ministry, and showing the love of God in this very practical way!
