Gearing Up for Summer!
Mission Trips, Camps, Fireworks
As another school year comes to a close, we are busy in youth ministry gearing up for a great summer full of many wonderful opportunities for our youth! We have mission work trips for both junior high and senior high students. Our junior high will be serving with the United Methodist YouthForce in Okmulgee, OK in July. In June, our senior high will serve in the community of Van Buren, MO, that is rebuilding after being impacted by tornado and flood damage. There are so many wonderful camp opportunities for children & youth of all ages! Stillwater District Camp will be June 4-8th at Camp Egan for 7th-12th graders. The Camp Guide Book and district registration forms are now available. Beginning the last week of June thru Independence Day our youth will have a blast hosting a Jake’s Fireworks stand located on Highway 97. All the proceeds raised from the firework sales will go to help support these hard working youth with their missions and camp costs. We invite everyone to come out and see us!

Day of Legacy
Saturday May 5th is Day of Legacy at the UM Children’s Home in Tahlequah. In the past this event was called “Spring Fest,” but the name has been changed to “Legacy.” The 1-4 PM afternoon festival/picnic is for everyone that loves the Children’s Home as well as those that have graduated from it or who once lived here. There will be a Live Auction from 2-3 PM. (Please send your baskets early if you are planning on donating one.) There will be outdoor games, music, food, fishing and more. Everyone is invited and requested to come. You may want to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. It will be a fun afternoon.

Change Our World
Thank you to all who helped support our Change the World mission pro-ject during the Lenten Season. The totals are now in: We were able to raise $2,177.74 for the various mis-sions of our church. Believe it or not, $777.74 was raised from the change in our Change the World Jar. These funds will help us meet our missions goals for 2012.
Pumpkin Patch
It is almost that time of year again when we start thinking about our grassy area being covered in orange…. Pumpkins!
This year we are looking for an individual(s) who would like to bring some fresh ideas to our Patch and head up the organization of this fundraiser / mission.
