Children's
Ministry

Our Children's department offers ministry, care, mission, and fellowship for children ages birth through grade 5.  Our children's ministry includes a host of opportunities for Spiritual growth...
Sunday School
Sunday School for children is held each Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30.  There are classes for each age level.  Classes for  pre-school and kindergarten are taught in the Nursery area for children ages 3yrs to 5 yrs old.  Classes for children in grades 1 - 2 and grades 3 - 5 are offered in the children's class room wing.
Nursery
A nursery is provided during Sunday School, most services of worship, and special events for children ages birth through pre-school.  Our director of nursery ministries is Gina Blansett who is accompanied by a dedicated team of volunteers.
Wednesday Evening Program
The Wednesday evening program for children in grades 1 - 5th which is offered during the school year.  It meets at 6:15 immediately following our Cross and Flame Cafe dinner.  A variety of learning activities for spiritual growth and learning the basic stories of the Bible are offered.

Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night involves monthly activities designed to provide fellowship and spiritual growth for children along with their parent or guardian.  Some of these activities are of a seasonal nature (ie. our annual Easter Egg hunt), others involved special outings and activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family.  Usually these events are held on Saturdays, but there are exceptions throughout the year.  Please refer to the Calendar or Events pages for the upcoming schedule.
Children's Church
Children's church is a children's oriented time of worship in which they sing songs, share joys and concerns, pray, and hear a message oriented to the children's age group.  Children's church is held from 10:45  (the close of Sunday School) through the conclusion of our morning services of worship.  For children's church, the children initially meet in the children's classroom, and then at the appropriate time transition to the Chapel for their time of worship.  The children will return to the classroom to meet parents/guardian's following the morning service of worship.  Children's church is not held on the 1st Sunday of each month so that the children can be with their families for the serving of Holy Communion.
Acolytes
Acolytes serve in both the Sanctuary service and in the Children's church to "bring the light of Christ" to the altar as the service begins, and to "lead us forth with the light of Christ" as we proceed back into the world.  Children are welcome to participate in the Acolyte program as their maturity level warrants.  Please visit with our Director of Children's ministries for details about opportunities for training.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a 3-5 day mid week learning opportunity for children in grades k - 5.  This event is scheduled each summer.  Some years VBS is offered during the day time; other years in the evening.  Please check the Calendar and Events pages for details.
Camps
Camps are offered each summer for children in grades 3 through 5.  These are usually three day camps held at Camp Egan near Tahlequah.
